Aria Magic Cat

躺平猫 · Keeps your Mac working after the screen locks

Aria Magic Cat: Lock the screen. Keep working.

You start a big download, lock the screen and go for lunch. You come back to a sleeping Mac and a stalled download. Aria Magic Cat does one thing: after the screen locks or goes dark, your Mac keeps working.

Requires macOS 14 or later · Runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs

What it does

Keeps going when locked

Downloads, builds, renders and remote sessions keep running after you lock the screen, instead of stopping when the Mac sleeps.

A cat in the menu bar

Click it to open the panel. The switch and the settings are in there.

Launch at Login

Tick it and Aria Magic Cat starts with your Mac. It's a standard macOS login item, so you can see it and turn it off in System Settings.

Leaves power settings alone

While the switch is on, it asks macOS not to sleep. Turn it off or quit, and every request is released. Energy settings and sleep timers stay as they are.

No network access

Runs in the App Sandbox without network permission. No account, no data collected.

Six languages

简体中文, 繁體中文, English, 日本語, 한국어, العربية

Three things it won't stop: closing a notebook's lid, choosing Sleep from the Apple menu, and a critically low battery. In those cases the Mac still sleeps. It also uses more power than letting the Mac sleep, since the screen is off but the machine is awake. Turn it off when the job is done.
